You are amazing Andi truly....your use of every color, even bold color is like... flowing. You fearlessly embrace the tender issues of every woman and I appreciate that in your work. I love that each of the faces have true expression in their eyes. Keep on showing us more!
Wow, Kristen! I love that you have commented on my blog! So exciting...thank you for making a profile so you and dad can participate! "Maid in a Dream" was one of the first canvas pieces I was truly proud of...where I created with a fierce woman in acrylic, outside of my usual sketching/drawing. The display that I refer to as "flare" in each piece, is my favorite process in making these paintings. The flowers/plantation, the random splotchy color & designs that just come to me. It really is a matter of finding shapes and patterns as I go...it's truly an improv design everytime. I have yet to "plan" a painting and spend more than 2 hours on one. It truly is illustrative journaling...I do these very quickly and in one sitting (literally on the floor) set up with towels underneath me. It is so fun, but my room is in a constant state of disarray. What's new!? Love you guys...
